Whenever I’ve traveled to the States, I’ve always gotten giddy when holding a wad of American bills. There’s just something about the look/ texture…etc.
We’ve got cartoonish-looking money here in Canada.
Also noticed American clerks will actually announce the denomination you’ve just given them…so there is no confusion as to which bill was just handed over.
Also noticed in Vermont there were no grocery cart sheds for patrons to put away after taking their stuff out to their car. Carts were scattered all over the parking lot at the supermarket.
We have them at every grocery store here in Canada.
Last time I was in the US was 10yrs ago when 1$CA was equal to 1$US. We saved tons of money from shopping in the US. We went to Woodbury outlets then to Timesquare NY. In Timesquare it was too crowded even at 4AM!
American money and Euros look very plain to me somehow.
I like £££’s with there various designs and the notes are all plastic now, we also have the royal mint which has a vast array of collectible coins of various value and design, there is a premium 50p piece specially made for this years pride and lots more, great if you are a collector.
Our current exchange rate is around .68 or so versus the greenback. So I need $1.30 Aussie to buy an American dollar. Back when I moved to the states in the early noughties it was around .50 or less so I needed $2 to buy 1 American dollar…It was an expensive trip and enterprise that one seeing I ended up staying there.
