A thread for Canada-------

I just posted this in another thread but I guess it is worth posting here too…

I love living in Canada. It’s not perfect but it’s a great country. Here is humorous beer commercial that was on TV about 20 years ago, a lot of people loved it…

Then William Shatner (Who is Canadian) did a parody of it, it’s pretty funny too.

I’ve visited Niagara Falls both the American and Canadian side. Extraordinary experience!

I like the Rockies in my part of Canada, dislike many of the people in this province outside of the cities. Wanting to move to Nova Scotia next fall and we’re making plans to this effect.

Yeah, and they’re both useless in some parts of the country. You’ll want to speak one of the two major Chinese dialects in large swaths of Vancouver, BC.

I visited too, Canadian side. I have been to the US NY Timesquare, good for shopping, popular brands for cheap, much cheaper than Canada. Lots of Canadians go shop in the US.

I used to live in NYC. It used to be amazing, but then it got very commercial and expensive and all of us artist/creative people couldn’t afford it anymore – both money and culture-wise – so we all left. Never been to Niagra Falls, though.

I also went to Woodbury Common Premium Outlets, it was much cheaper than Canada and no taxes. But I guess like you said other parts of the US are even cheaper. Vermont is 2hrs drive from here Quebec lots of Canadians shop there. Is Vermont cheaper than NY?

Everything is cheaper than NYC and San Francisco! The coasts, in general, are way more expensive than the middle, so yes, Vermont has a higher cost of living than average. I used to live in LA (after NYC) and that’s gotten super pricey, as well.

Upstate NY is cheaper than NYC, though.

Nova Scotia is such a beautiful name. I bet the nature there is amazing as well.

I live in California. I remember as a kid occasionally getting Canadian coins in our change when we bought something. Always added them to my coin collection.

That happens up here in Canada too. Many times I’ve received American coins in my change.

I love being Canadian. Would love to move to the west coast though.

One of my daughter’s friends just did. He’s discovering it’s not compatible with Tim Horton’s wages.

I like living in Ontario, but I’ve lived here all my life so I have nothing to compare it too. We have the most seats and a large influence in parliament, but some of the country hates us for that. I guess it can be good if you live here and frustrating if you don’t.
