When I was growing up in my California city from when I was very young all the way through high school, occasionally while getting change from buying something from the supermarket or the drugstore or whatever, we would get Canadian penny’s amongst our own U.S. pennies, nickels or dimes.
Me and my friends loved getting those. It was like getting a penny from an exotic foriegn land to us and we collected those pennies and cherished them.
