Has anyone seen or plan on seeing the new Tom Cruise movie American Made? I hear it opened in USA yesterday. Do you have any favourite Tom Cruise movies?

But seriously, I liked the first movie that he was in that kind of launched his popularity and that was Risky Business. And I thought his performance in Born on The Fourth Of July was stunning and worthy of an Oscar nomination at the very least.
My favorite movie of his was Top Gun. I was living in a board & care home in 1993 when I first saw it and I was hooked and I watched it at least two dozen times.
To answer this question seriously I found a web site that listed all Tom Cruises movies. All I cared for was the three movies I listed. I could probably sit through many of his movies and be entertained a little but I would not go of the way to watch them.

He’s made a lot of movies. Did he win any awards for Rain Man? If anyone knows? I would like to see this new movie; it sounds reminiscent of A Few Good Men.

he’s a poster boy for scientology which is a hack religion that preys on people and promotes that depression and major mental illness is something they can cure with their rubbish.
i don’t care for Tom Cruise or any scientologist. It’s rubbish and they should be taxed instead of hiding under religion. They also treat their members like shite and do some extremely strange stuff.
I refuse to watch the new stuff and even in his back catalogue I don’t really find anything inspriring.

i read Scientology years ago. all the documentary hacks against scientology act like you can just oppose people who perform brutal elective brain surgery for money like was done to JFK’s sister with a mr nice guy attitude.
IRL Tom Cruise is a kook, but as an actor, there’s really no other that’s as versatile as him. He’s a great character actor. My favorite role he was in is Magnolia. He plays a motivational speaker/ cult leader sorta guy.
I liked him in minority report.
