mostly i use it to listen to radio, to listen to music, get the weather forecast, ask random information like “alexa, what’s the population of bay city, michigan?” or ask what time it is. or get my daily horoscope.

i used to have conversations with her, it’s amazing all the responses she has. she also likes to make up raps.

i have an echo dot, it has speakers, it connects to my internet signal. when the internet is down it doesn’t work. i don’t know if you can get it on a cellphone or not. there is an alexa app, but i’ve never been on it, it’s actually dad’s, my brother got it for him when they were new, and he messed with it. then i bought him a better one with better speakers, can’t remember which model it was. anyways if they are streaming music at their place i can’t stream music here unless we pay for amazon music unlimited. but we can both listen to the radio at the same time. i like to listen to ‘americana’ genre of music, but they don’t add new songs for like 6 months, so sometimes i get tired of listening to the same songs. but you can also request songs. and we have apple music connected to it through the alexa app, so if its something amazon doesn’t offer as part of it’s basic music, apple music has it, and she streams that. im not a techie.

Yea I just read they now have a 4th gen recently came out bigger with better sound. Hmm I wish I didn’t buy a jbl bluetooth speaker for 40$. Maybe Ill get it on my birthday next year.

I bought the add on Samuel L Jackson voice. It didn’t work that great. You have to say " Alexa, ask Sam ( insert thing here". You can get him to say, " A lot of you mthfkrs want to hear me say mthfkr".

When I first got my Echo Dot, I was asking Alexa all kinds of silly stuff. I remember asking “Alexa, who farted?” and Alexa answered “It wasn’t me” :smirk:

I just asked "Alexa, who farted?” to see if I got the same answer as when I asked this same question months ago. This time Alexa answered “If you’re the denier you must be the supplier.” :smile:

I just got the Echo Dot 3 for 25$CA. They’re selling it less than half price bcz there is the 4th gen now. Is the sound decent?
