Advice on dating apps

Bumble and okcupid seem to suck
I only have catfish on me

Does online dating exist anymore?

Will I have to resort to tinder?

Online dating was free online classified ads when I met my wife through them and it worked well. These new apps seem to be more designed to lure people in and keep them trapped there rather than finding you a mate. Maybe just short-circuit the system and get a volunteer job somewhere. Meet a lady there instead.

I met a girl on Badoo. We still text even though these days I’m the one who initiates conversations. They changed the layout of the site to match the mobile app and I don’t like the new interface. Also this girl isn’t my type and she self-harms. I’ve had good luck meeting women at social functions but it hasn’t led to a relationship yet! :zipper_mouth_face: :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I quit online dating.

I found only predatorial men. Or desperate men wanting to marry me on day one. Done with that. I’ll be single.

I am still waiting for the ones you promised.

Nothing wrong with catfish. My grandpa used to catch a bunch of catfish in the Mississippi. They are kind of a pain to skin and they have a lot of bones, you have to be careful not to swallow one, but overall not bad tasting.

What I’d be more concerned about, if I were you, is someone pretending to be someone they are not to try to get something from you.

I tried match.com a long time ago and I had some girls like me but I wasn’t interested. Five years later I went back on the site and a lot of the same women were on there. Either fake accounts or your soul gets trapped and on there like purgatory. I just remember going on there and the women had really high expectations and I found that as a turn off.

Tinder is mostly hook ups, I think

I liked bumble but yes like any dating app there’s tonnes of scams

It seems more so for the men side from what I’ve heard.

If you keep at it for months you may find someone.

But you may not.

Up to you, if you think that it is worth that amount of time, searching and making moves.

Lie about your height. Say you are shorter so when you meet in real life it will be a good surprise lol

Lol @anon87144867 I do post the ugly pics of me sometimes so that I don’t feel pressure to appear beautiful looking.

My current plan for these damnable apps is to keep up with the diet until I get a shredded six pack and do an in-house photoshoot like a model or some sh*t and see if that makes a difference because I have been doing nothing but wasting time so far.

I’ve said this a million times on here and I’ll say it again…

I was on tinder for a year before I met my now husband.

Just FYI- I only met up with 1 other guy the whole time and we did not hook up… it was very awkward…

Tinder sucks for men without big friend groups. You won’t get any replies if you don’t have pictures of yourself with friends. At least I didn’t, only got one reply that ghosted me, the rest was bots. Maybe if you’re handsome or have written something interesting in your description, that will help.

So I have looked at every woman in 25 miles of me on bumble and I got a reply from someone cute!

But I’m still thinking the dating apps suck.

Everyone on okcupid is fake account
