Adobe Illustrator vs Affinity Designer

I am playing around with Affinity Designer on the trail version and it looks easy enough to use. It is a one of £50 or so while the Adobe Illustrator is like £10 a month. I don’t think I can justify that cost.

The Affinity desgienr was on sale a few months back at 50% off but I didn’t know about it then. Should I still get it without the discount?

@anon82948922 What do you suggest

Haven’t used Illustrator for quite some time. I’m not a fan of Adobe’s pricing structure. I wish I could just buy Photoshop. I need it so I’m stuck paying the Adobe tax. I managed to ditch Adobe Audition (audio software) as I found a replacement that I only had to pay for once that fit my needs.

I agree, it’s a great software way too expensive… I will stick to Affinity even if its £50 much cheaper the adobe.

I’m still at the MS Paint level, so I wouldn’t know. A friend helps me whenever I need more advanced designs, such as logos. I think he uses Corell Draw.

That’s a good software too… I used to use it when it was PaintShop

Illustrator is one of my favorite apps. I have a student discount through my college as I’m a graphic design student, but it’s gonna hurt when I lose that pricing in a year.

I find illustrator does more things , but affinity is simple to use once you get to grips with it.

I draw. For me, I use Clip Studio. I’m with @anon82948922 that Adobe pricing is questionable. Clip Studio is a yearly-subscription program that’s fairly easy to use. I’m looking into switching to Procreate because the program seems more easy to control, and has brushes that I can utilize.

I love procreate too, but I’m looking for a program that can convert to SVGs mainly.
