Pity the psychiatrists won’t let me take any supplements. This could help me out. I have been eating1500 calories a day for years now and just manage to maintain weight.

Berberine might lower blood sugar levels. Taking berberine along with diabetes medications might cause blood sugar to drop too low. Monitor your blood sugar closely.

I’m taking Metformin so can’t risk it…

Does it hurt the effectiveness of the antipsychotic against the schizophrenia symptoms?

Berberine was well tolerated without serious adverse events and aggravation of psychotic symptoms compared with placebo.
