Abilify - Lowering dosage from 15 mg to 10 mg

Hello!

I am on abilify 15 mg , 3 months already , before that i was on 150 mg injectable xeplion (invega) , for 2 years .
My diagnosis is paranoid schizophrenia.
My doc switched me to abilify because of weight gain.
Now the weight gain has still not stopped , so i am thinking about lowering my dosage to 10 mg abilify.
I would like to ask if anyone could tell me if there will be any noticeable effects on appetite and in energy , if i switch from 15 mg to 10 mg.
I have not had any psychosis or episodes in the last 2 years , do you think i could tolerate it?

I’m in abilify 10mg and it’s working for me, but everybody is different.

One “trick” I learned to stop increased appetite with abilify is to take a bcomplex with it. But not a high powered bcomplex with e.g. 1000% of the rda, but a low powered one with just 100% of the rda.

I found that the high powered bcomplex seemed to interact with abilify and gave me chest tightness.

Even with the low powered one, I find I have to take it about 6 hours AFTER taking abilify to avoid any interaction.

But the “trick” works. No increased appetite.

Could you tell me how you came to the conclusion that b complex vitamins could lower your appetite?
I researched on the internet and i read that it ussually increases appetite,not lower.

I discovered it by accident. When I take abilify my appetite is significantly higher, but if I take a bcomplex too then it’s normal.

I suggested this to another user on here who had success with curbing their abilify increased appetite with a bcomplex too.

The link I gave above is for iherb.com and they’re based in the USA.

I’m not saying it’s guaranteed to work, but it worked for me and the other user here.

Let us know if it works…

Edit : if you get any chest tightness when taking the bcomplex , then stop taking the bcomplex. Obviously.

Oh , and another question. Do you think a b complex with 1000% of the rda will work even better than 100% ?
I mean i can still switch to 100% if i get any symptoms, like your chest tightness for example.
