A Poem: Past

The older you get
The more you think
About your past
As there’s so much of it

Perhaps.

I wonder about the reverse though, how many more good memories we may have.

I feel it may come down to self blame. How long we spent on procession of a time we may of felt guilt or shame. Divine knows I’ve spent decades still holding on to slights I made in my childhood through recently.

It felt like a ball of oobleck I was forcefully and desperate to hold on too. I had to figure out how I could to it slip through my hands freely, leaving no trace.

You can do it, you never blew it,

Believe you achieved,

Wear it on your sleeve,

And give yourself some leave!

I think part of the reason for thinking of the past is that we wish we were that young again.
