A Poem of Insanity 2

Insanity, it pleads sanity to the dulling mind

A Holy Grail of reality that is beyond the veil of the mind

It talks as if it knows best for the selfish mind

Self-pity is built up on the everlasting horror of damnation to the mind

Like a man on a cliff, does the insanity plead for safety from the destroyer of the mind

Suppression from the prescription we go to as a dying man goes from the mortality of human life;

All is not lost, as neuroticism is augmented by the personal iconoclast of the mind.

This is intentionally more ambiguous and vague so that the meaning may mean several things to people. But I tried to keep it to what we all experience.

Also, if anyone knows how to actually write a poem using a meter and actual poetical theory, then please offer critique and how it may be better with those additional components.

I really like it.

I stopped to think of the meaning of each line.

ā€œMindā€ is repeated too many times for me though.

Yeah, without knowing poetic devices, I thought Iā€™d repeat that word over and over because I thought it may sound more like a poem. Thanks for the feedback.

I asked a ā€˜robotā€™ and it came up with these changes as i said it used mind too much:

(You can spit on it later or not :smiley: )

Insanity, it pleads sanity to the dulling mind

A Holy Grail of reality that is beyond the veil of thought

It talks as if it knows best for the selfish soul

Self-pity is built up on the everlasting horror of damnation to the psyche

Like a man on a cliff, does the insanity plead for safety from the destroyer of reason

Suppression from the prescription we go to as a dying man goes from the mortality of human life;

All is not lost, as neuroticism is augmented by the personal iconoclast of consciousness.
