Here in California our major grocery stores have weekly ads we get in the mail. They have the best deals in the store and usually have great prices for meat and vegetables and other stuff. If you don’t get those in the mail you can go to the stores website and click on ‘weekly ads’ if they have them.

Buy the store brand when you go shopping. It’s cheaper and usually as good of quality as the name brands.

Buy fruits and vegetables that are in season. That’s when they are cheapest and cheaper than other produce.

When you go shopping, never go when you’re hungry, you’re more likely to buy stuff like cookies and candy and other stuff you don’t need if you shop while you’re hungry.

When you go shopping always have a list so you buy only what you need and so you don’t buy extras.

In re: the $50/week for 4 - no way.

My husband is a 6’6” man who weighs 250 lbs and works out hard.he needs more calories and he prefers meat everyday. So, I plan meals for 4 people per week, plus toilet paper, cleaning supplies and things like gallon freezer bags etc for $140/week. I find that to be much more reasonable and realistic.

I personally would be fine with her meal plan but not my family.

I do prepare breakfast and lunch everyday as well to save money instead of eating things like expensive cold cereal.

You’re married to a kaiju!
