A new type of drug for schizophrenia could finally be approved in September

I would like to find some testimonials on the internet about KarXT but I haven’t found any. Maybe there are some. To know what the “mental” side effects are like. For example, depression.

Yeah, I think it will be clear with time.

As for me, I can’t care less. It would take 5-10 years for KARxt to be available here. Let’s see how to reviews come about, though.

What are your thoughts on evenamide?

Evanamide has been tested as add-on to other antipsychotics only. It is from Italy and It sounds promising but I do not know if it will ever be approved in my country, USA.

What does it mean that Dr. Correll has consulted with Karuna Therapeutics? What is a consultant?

A consultant is someone who gives advice

Phase 3 will almost certainly be conducted in the U.S. check out the anecdotes from this thread. She mentions phase 3 being conducted in North America.

Interesting article. If positive AND negative/cognitive symptoms can be regulated without weight gain and too much anxiety (abilify and other activating molecules), it would be a great breakthrough. A pdoc I know said to me that my medication had nothing to do with my weight gain whereas I started to be fat when I first be in the psych ward. The relationship between pdoc and medication is not always very clear.

I don’t know why we can’t just have betel but and call it a day

I mean, betel nut could probably help schizophrenia by itself but they just wanna make money off it and add weird crap that causes side effects

I bet the people that chew betel nut wouldn’t even like Karxt. They add some weird crap to karxt so they can patent it and make money

I’m going on holiday and I’m gonna try this betel nut.

Welbutrin is based off the plant called khat. Its highly addictive and they chew it in somalia i think?

Betel nut is prob addictive on its own.

It really boggles my mind.

The increase of effectiveness even with novel meds takes time. It’s like at least a five year window so do that research.

Meanwhile. You can get good gains with keto/lo carb and as someone who has been doing it for a over a year the gains are pretty good for someone who wasn’t a bad case. I had positives but controllable but on disability.

The really curious thing is increase in better negatives. More feelings and motivation. I’m doing things a year in I wasn’t doing a year ago as someone who tread water for years on antipsychotics.

Like the history of psych meds is incremental advances. Diet can do it in a year for some!

Why not move your energy to something far more beneficial even in the short term if you can wait it out and it’s better than what your proposing history wise.

Just saying.
