I asked Tonya if she was married!! She said yes, but she’s always open to having more friends. She is very cute and gregarious; bright and sunshiny. Tonya is a little gem. I told her about my past alcoholism and even the schizophrenia. She wasn’t judgmental at all. Funny, I ran into her on my way back from the book share. I had just given up another Norton anthology. The second time we met, I was carrying a Pepsi purchased at CM. I’m glad I asked her. Her response was very healthy and normal. Imagine that: I’ve met a healthy person.
Tonya is my mail carrier. When she sees me, she never fails to smile and wave. She told me once that my dog scares the heck out of her. But today, Aesop didn’t bark at her as she passed. It swells my heart to think of my future with Tonya for friend. I’ve no doubt she has a plethora of friends already. I look forward to seeing her again next time. Tonya with the invincible smile.
I really like that! It’s true, I’m an incurable romantic and idealist. I believe the moon is made of cheese, too – and apple pie in the sky! Have a great day or night @Loke
you are lucky to have a friend like Tonya, @Borath I tried to earn friendship but often failed because I had low energy, low brain power and poor concentration which made me perform poorly when around new friends.
I realize what you say, @green5. Could you try putting yourself in a situation with other people, perhaps others with a DX, where it’s safe to just be yourself? You might look into support groups for folks with sz. That’d be my advice if you want to meet people and hang out. It can be a lot of fun
