they always wear a cowboy hat so you always see them in town…hauling hay, pulling cattle or horses…etc…funny.

I remember going to Oklahoma one time and the police had cowboy hats and an accent
We have a lot of cowboys where I live, but the ones wearing cowboy hats are mostly wannabes. They also tend to have shiny “pavement princess” trucks without a single scratch on them. The real cowboys wear ball caps and drive banged-up pickups that have had run-ins with cattle.
(I live in Canada’s cattle country.)

Sounds like the fraternity of cowboy builder’s around here.
Yeah I imagine they have more hits in their pick ups than the Fall Guy.
There are a few cowboys where I live. There are also bikers. Generally speaking, if you leave them alone they will leave you alone.
The modern cowboy seems like just an aesthetic or is it a way of life?
There are exceptions - beware any truck with a farm sticker on its plate.
Blind people drive better. Really.
