I think that custom ended in my generation (I’m 78).
My step dad did before his death, I think my biological father did too I’m not sure
flat caps wore popular for the older generation here some years back.
My dad often wears a cowboy hat. He’s 72.
My dad does and so does my husband. My hubby is only 37.
My father got me into wearing a hat. Now I wear one everywhere I go. My dad had all kinds of hats…fedoras, Coassack hats, boonie hats, baseball caps, just a lot.
my grandpa would always come home from work and hang his hat on the hat rack in the living room…he looked so snazzy…loved it.
He wore an old ball cap. Maybe it was a truckers hat. My roommate wears a hat.
Maybe? Don’t know. Never met him.
I’m known to wear a hat. (Bowler.)
Oh yeah. My dad is very casual, but he typically wears a baseball style cap if it’s sunny out.
My dad was bald and never wore a hat. He is very down to earth.
The hat my dad wore was a fedora.
I used to wear fedoras a lot but I didn’t want people thinking I was a gangster. Plus a lot of hipsters started wearing them.
Gosh, I didn’t know gangsters and fedoras were connected. I hope my dad wasn’t one.
When I was in the Marines we had to always wear a hat outside. We called it a cover. I was in the Navy and the Marine Corps for over 26 years. When I was in the Navy we even had to wear a ball cap inside the ship all the time.
I hate hats. Someone asked me what I was going to do when I got out the Marines once and I just told them I was going to get a job where I didn’t have to wear a hat.
Oh I doubt your father was a gangster, I’m sorry if I triggered you.
It’s just out here in KC most people who dress up nice in suits and fedoras are probably connected.
No need to apologize, @Montezuma If the shoe fits, wear it. It just opened up my mind to myself and my family in one more way.
My Dad’s dead, and I never really got to know him. So I don’t Know if even wore a hat indoors or outdoors, but I love my lucky hat I wear it everywhere.
