A life diagnosed with schizophrenia

For the longest time I kind of just existed as a person diagnosed with schizophrenia. This went on for about 20 years. Then research found a new med that I tried and the recovery model came into existence. I learned the recovery concepts along with a better antipsychotic. I soon was doing better. I went back to work on a part time basis and began to go to groups. My life began to start to make sense again as I was at least participating in life. Soon I found my future wife. I went back to work full time and found the concepts of hope, empowerment, purpose, making my own choices and a good recovery environment. I surrounded myself with good people and I was feeling better. My thought process was sounder and I began to feel like I was thriving. I’ll embrace life and continue to use the recovery process.

Nice one mate. Glad you know having Sz is not a Death Sentence!

Its highly treatable - so long as you stay med compliant. x
