So the old boy was away at a funeral today so it was up to me to prepare the turf wicket and mow the oval and all the other things needed for play this saturday. Been a long day but got it all done. Was down the club early so got the mowing done before the heat and managed to get the wicket up. Was a bit trying with one end wetter than the other but all in all not a bad job. I’m stuffed but I like that. Nothing like some good physical tiredness to make you feel alive!
The last really good job I did was when my brother had come out of the hospital for a procedure and I mowed his lawn for him. I profusely sweated and took several breaks but at times it was actually fun. He still could cook and rewarded me with a great meal. That was 2 Summers ago.
Friend. It’s not so bad doing some ground chores. I use a ride on mower to mow the oval. It’s boring as bat shite but it is basically left turn over and over. Takes like an hour and 45 minutes but there’s reward in the journey.
You can make some money with cash mowing lawns. It’s not pretty work but if your on benefits cash is king. I mow our lawn here and hate it. Mowing at the club I get by with my volunteering!
