I’m not saying it’s accurate, but it is fun to read about possible future technology.
Hass it anything to do with sz…@!!
No, sz isn’t mentioned, but they do make medical technology predictions.
Such as: artificial kidneys by 2021, complete human brain simulations by 2025, mass application of gene drives on mosquitos by 2029, Alzhiemer’s disease cure by 2036.
These are all just predictions, but they are based on projections from current technology.
Some of the stuff is not far fetched, here’s the kidney info, it could enter clinical trials within a year.
Hi twinkle do u think that sz goona cure by 2040
If not a cure, it will be much more treatable.
Here’s my future timeline dot net style prediction:
2040s - Diagnosis by brain scan and/or blood test. Medication management on the basis of those tests for maximum efficacy with much more effective medications; if not fully curable with stem cell, gene editing, or implant technologies, either available at that time or on the visible horizon.
Thanks a lot twinklestars …
Fingers crossed that I’m right!
I’m also looking forward to no more mosquitos.
U may be right. .are u from which state and how old are ya…just my question. .
California, US, and old, but not so old I won’t live to see this amazing future stuff
May u live 100 YRS. .BLESSING are with you by the way i am niraj kafle from kathmadu nepal …good bless all of us.have a good day ahead…peace be with u…
And you, @far_cry0 !
Again thank u…
If this prediction is true, they will be able to simulate different aspects of schizophrenia and come up with counter-measures!
The future looks exciting indeed. I’m not old enough to stop caring
It’s hard to put a date on it, but they’re basing this on Moore’s law and the exponential, not linear growth in computing technology. Apparently they’ve done a mouse brain model already, so a human brain should follow in the fairly near future.
In the short term, things are frustratingly slow, and past 5 or 10 years out it’s hard to know what shape technologies will take, but what is for sure is, barring some major disaster, we will know more and more faster and faster.
Plus, if they really can cure Alzheimer’s by 2036, imagine all the billions of dollars and brilliant scientists that can then be dedicated to other brain diseases.
