Having crossed paths with a bitter celebrity (Van Cliburn), I certainly wouldn’t want to be one although I think Van wasn’t going to rest until all of we pianists new what he was going through and were forced to be the same. Enter, I think it was the root cause of my breakdown. To avoid fame, one has to sincerely not want it. This is hard to do if self love is already lost. Cling to the roots you created by your family and friends. If things go wrong with them, don’t hesitate to stop and patch things up.
It seems to be that the people who become famous a lot are the ones who least want fame.
It’s no wonder. Once you’re famous, your life isn’t your own anymore.
