I couldn’t afford to buy kefir too and it was embarrassing to send it back. I’m living strictly on my benefits for the first time in my life I’m on my own. I am going to try and get food stamps and then I can get a cat.
Are you in the US? If so, which state?!
I had a get-one-free coupon to buy a loaf of some name brand bread and it was $8.49! I’m sticking to the generic stuff!
That’s high @Jinx. We’re paying $5.59 CDN for the same, which is less in your currency.
Milk here is 2.98 a gallon. It’s b.s… so I just get a few milk pints or half gallon. If we’re lucky.
Four dollars here in the dairy state.
They called it organic. It was the store closest to me.
That’s Latin for “charge double for the same thing”.
We buy pack boxed milk in Trinidad by the liter. It is 16 TT$ ( about 2.34 US$ ). For equivalent of gallon that would be about 10.50 US$. Some buy powdered milk which is cheaper.
Oh my gosh @mangojuice! That’s so expensive! Are there non dairy alternatives? Do they cost more or less?
Yeah a gallon of Lactaid, lactose free milk costs us about $7.49 that’s a lot for milk!
You must live in L.A.
my milk is under four dollars…I buy generic.
It’s $3.78 for a gallon of regular milk at Walmart here in Little Rock Arkansas. $3.30 for a half gallon of lactose free milk I use.
Almond milk half gallon at $2.36 is a better deal though.
I have another store further down the road that has cheap milk. I had just never looked at my receipt from the gourmet store B4.
This past month I wasted a LOT of money at that store. I kept all my receipts and I’m going to look at them in a few days.
I’ve got food to last a couple of days and $70 in the bank. I’m rich.
