Banks want you to have a high credit line because it increases the chance that you’ll charge more than you can pay off monthly. The interest rate on credit cards can be as high as 30%, so the best scenario for the bank is a person who maxes out a high amount of credit and then pays the monthly minimum.

Banks only keep between 3%-10% of deposits on hand. They use the rest of the deposits for various loans (credit cards, auto loans, personal loans, house loans (mortgages), etc.).

I’m gonna cut a lot of my credit after I pay it off, it’s done me no good. Anything I have bought, I’ve had to sell :disappointed:

Theres a downside to you using a Debt managment company - and that is you aint gonna have no decent credit score for the next 6 years (at least here in the Uk). So good luck when you want to pay your energy bill by direct debit, or take out a mobile phone contract.

We got into debt. And we got a debt management plan. Now it’s all being paid off. When I finally receive compensation I will pay it all off at once.

It’s not affected me being able to pay my things by direct debit. I probably can’t take out anymore credit but that doesn’t bother me because to be honest I don’t want anything else on credit now.

Interest is 27-29% on all my cards.

20000 in debt means every month

450$ interest a month paying minimum payment.

Credit cards are predator lenders to the poor

How do you pay back unless you get an influx of cash or a huge raise. Otherwise why would a person have used credit to pay bills living expenses healthcare emergency pet care

I had a card with 10k on it with an APR of 39.9. Killer it was. Endless 100 quids were being thrown at it not making much of a dent.

Ive just got one with my bank now, for just a grand at an APR of 14 odd.

Most of that 10k went on crap anyway (apart from the Daughters Car).

Credit cards and the Amazon Website at 2am in the morning - is a lethal combination for me lol.
