3rd gen drugs

Didnt realise 3rd gen was a thing. If 1st gen is typical and 2nd gen is atypical then what is 3rd gen? And what are some current on the market 3rd gen drugs?

Sometimes Abilify is called a 3rd gen. Sometimes it’s called a 2nd gen :man_shrugging:

Yeah I know abilify is. It’s a pretty good med too not gonna lie. Didn’t know vraylar, etc was though.

Pretty much all the partial dopamine agonists are considered 3rd generation drugs.
Vraylar, Caplyta, Rexulti and Abilify

3rd gen drugs really aren’t a thing yet. The naming and classification is mainly just semantics
