It’'s been suggested by several very intelligent persons with ADHD that I may have the ‘Inattentive’ type . It would certainly explain a lot re the comments in multiple school reports of being disorganised and messy. The ongoing difficulty with prioritising multi step tasks, the focussing that depends on how much something interests me.I think people on this on forum would be very surprised by the offline me, compared to the one that participates here.
What you see here is the best of me,as opposed to the me that needs ongoing support to maintain a healthy level of independent living.
I have adhd. Im on non-stimulant meds for it. Helps a lot for me. I went undiagnosed most of my life.
Does it help you to organise your thoughts better? Curb the ‘20 channels all on at each showing a different program’ feeling.Intellectually I’m curious as to how I’d respond to such a med. In terms of reversing the damage caused by poor and often very hostile treatment by mental health professionals at the age of 67- realistically nothing’s going to do that.
On a good day, or period of time, I can deal OK with how things are vs how they could and should’ve been with proper help and support. On a bad day, or period of time I feel such intense frustration and hurt.
I have a very inquisitive mind, but thinking can cause such distress, hurt, and frustration.
I tried methylphenidate (Ritalin) off a friend but it just made me anxious and bored. Not really for me
And, you know what happens.
ADD= low dopamine. Antipsychotics lower dopamine. Hence, the APs worsen the ADD symptoms.
I probably also have ADD, and I simply don’t know what to do regarding cognition.
Chat GPT is suggesting cognitive enhancers, basically drugs for Alzheimers given that i get psychosis with even non-stimulant ADD medication. Anyone suggests them?
for me wellbutrin helps a lot
It didn’t make any impact, whether positive or negative, for me.
