24 hours of work last 9 days!

24 hours down 11 to go in the trial evaluation period. Will do 8 more hours this week then 3 hours on my birthday on Monday. 35 hours x 10.15 minimum wage. I’m no mathematician but that’s over $350 extra dollars in my pocket the last couple weeks. If I get hired it’ll be 20 hours a week which is like $900 a month extra!!! To supplement my disability. I think the limit for $ made a month and keeping disability is close to $1300…it goes up every year but that’s where it’s at now. And I’ll be healthily under that, but still making a very solid amount. I live in a real expensive county but in the poorest city so I will be 100% independent from my parents. Although I will still go over their house but disability only covers rent and a lil more at this point…so feels pretty good that I could be independent from parents right after my 27th birthday despite this illness!!

I do food prep. I serve elderly people through meals on wheels. I heard these women talking about me saying I was a great hard worker today.

Wow that sounds great, food prep. and cooking are great ways to take ones mind off things.
You sound like a very generous and selfless person and I am sure those women were not wrong in complimenting your hard work !

Well done for becoming independent, I wish you lots of luck.

Don’t forget about taxes. 350x.85= 297. Minus whatever the local taxes are in your area. I don’t want you to be in for a nasty surprise. It sucks, but even people on welfare have to pay income tax. But you should get it all back at the end of the year.
