10 years on the sz forum

I actually started using the sz forum 10 years ago because my life was lonely and I wanted to socialize with other people. Well, I am still as lonely as I was back then. I understand that we are digital beings here on the net, but this forum has helped me to maintain my English skills. Actually in my real life I do not need English and all my real communications are in Finnish. I am just 10 years older.

thank you for being here.

I’ve been here on the forum since like 2010. I was just using various different usernames and then would delete an account and create a new one. I once accidentally had 2 accounts at the same time. Im still glad I had the outlet, Im a space case so I need the support.

Does the forum help with your loneliness at all? If not, try to get on other threads more often. Online friendships aren’t as fulfilling as in person ones, but they do still help a lot.

I think that the forum helps to use my time better than just thinking how lonely I may have been. I have many different thoughts I could post, but I do not because these could be considered political which I try to avoid.

I left America almost exactly 21 years ago. When I was on the plane over Florida there were some voices such as ‘you regret this’, but now after 21 years I must just conclude I made a right choice. This was after I had lived in my auto 783 days. I think that is longer than the siege of Leningrad during the 2nd WW. Of course it cost money to make such a radical move. I am glad to ride my bicycle and visit different places such as flea markets. I just need to remain positive. Sometimes I just talk with people whom I do not necessarily know.

Well, I checked. The siege of Leningrad lasted 89 days longer. There is actually a good movie of this siege.

I actually had a real connection to this siege when I discussed with two old ladies at one synagogue in April 1997 in Atlanta. They told how they had transported food and other goods over the lake Ladoga to this city during the siege. They probably helped the large number of people to survive.
