ECig explodes in guys pants

He customized his and up the voltage to a higher level than what the manufactured parts were rated for. What some don’t realize, in simple terms if you stuff to much power into something it will explode.

Story is here

Most of these incidents are cases of consumers using batteries or chargers not specifically intended for e-cigarettes

It’s not a hypothesis; it’s a well-established physical fact called thermal expansion (so there’s no need for the battery to be connected to the charger for it to explode).

If a 4.2 V battery is charged to 6 V, and it can contain 6.5 V, it’s likely to explode (not immediately). When molecules are heated they expand. Examples of thermal expansion is a balloon filled to capacity with air (no explosion) that’s left out in the sunlight with an air temperature of 110 F. Molecules are heated, they expand, BOOM–balloon bursts. The same physical fact can be made with a car tire.

I pick up from fire investigation companies, just about everything electrical can come out of there, see computers, hot water tanks, fans, tv’s, heaters, curling iron, you name it, if your not using it unplug it
