Benzodiazepines, the Ashton Manual

I have been on this site for awhile now, and I have noticed that benzodiazepine topics come up fairly often. In these threads there are often times incorrect information given, or bad advice. If you are thinking about getting on benzodiazepines, are on them, or withdrawing from them you should really read the Ashton Manual, It is considered the bible of benzodidazepines. Here is a link http://www.benzo.org.uk/manual/

I think it basically suggests switching to a benzo with a long half life, like Cloneazapam, working your way down to 0.5mg a day, then going cold turkey.

The only problem for me is I was already on 0.5mg Cloneazapam a day!

I still had a horrific time coming off it. It took months.

The tapering section is mostly for high dose long term users, but the information about them, and possible withdrawal symptoms should be known, I believe.

Iā€™m taking less than 0.25mg of Clonazepam and so far so good.
Not having any intense withdrawals thus far.

This is a good thing :slightly_smiling_face:

I had a harder time coming off gabapentin than I did on clonazepam.
