You lose - a poem

I was broken before
You came along
But you didn’t break me more
You crushed me into
A heap of useless powder.
You left nothing but
Chaff for the wind.
You tore me until
I was nothing.
I was worse than broken
I no longer existed.
Everything that was Arlene
Was just gone
Vanished
And in my place
Was a stranger
A messed up, confused, terrified
Shell of a human
Barely breathing
Scared of breathing
Scared of everything.
And the thoughts put in my head
By you
Poured out of the skulls
Of people who walked by.
The thought of anyone
Getting near me
Near my heart
Shut down with horror.
Even the shadow person
Knew that was never happening
Ever again.
The strange poems of power
That had to be written without knowledge
In the darkness of the night
Because that was the only power
Left to give.
You destroyed me
But I will rise up
I will make me whole
I will not be left to the wind
I will hold the banner high above me
And declare
I am back
I will never give up
You lose
