Yay! My brain is not as bad as I feared

I went to my neurologist recently and I don’t have dementia. I have some atrophy, but it is not progressing and probably happened a long time ago. So, I am stoked! Yay!

I got two MRIs one last year and one this year. They both showed some atrophy but she said that if anything, this year the atrophy is a little less prominent. So, no dementia. They did the original scan because of my scary migraines without pain. They thought that the symptoms were bad enough, that they should rule out other causes. I think they were looking for tumors or something, but found atrophy instead. But I am so glad there is no dementia! Oh, and thanks @Anna1!

Sometimes I wish I could see a neurologist and have him or her do a PET scan of my brain. I wonder if my psychological abnormalities would show up in my brain’s structure.

Do you know which part of the brain it was?

It looked like overall atrophy in the cerebrum - not any one area. They were looking at the distance between the top of my brain and my skull. They were also paying attention to the distance between the folds. It was an MRI scan. It took cross section pictures of my brain starting from the top down. It also did the same going left to right.
