Thought I was going to get to see an actual psychiatrist tomorrow at my appointment….
Nope, they are a PA-C… which is a certified physician assistant…
I guess they can diagnose and stuff but sheesh, why is it so hard to for me to be seen by an actual psychiatrist?!?!

They are allowing lots of psychiatric nurse practitioners replace psychiatrist.
They cost less
Whenever my mind hears “Assistant” in any title of a profession I automatically think “Nope”. It’s not that I think they are dumb, just less highly trained might be more accurate.
In my area seems to be a lot less psychiatrists. I also need a new psychiatrist but looks like I’m going to get someone that’s not a psychiatrist this time around.
That’s annoying. Hopefully they are a smart PA.
