you should be glad you can’t understand it huh… means you got no issues with it =)
Niether thanks. I know a couple of bi-polar people that get so “high” they have ended up stranded in france, or in the case of the woman, put herself into some right dodgy situations.
They are both a nightmare for different reasons.
I cant even begin to understand Sza, so im not gonna try.
I was bipolar from 15 to 30 then it changed to sza. Bipolar was 100x easier than sza. No hallucinations, paranoia, or delusions. Just shifting moods. I was able to pull a 3.8 in college with bipolar no problem.
There was a girl in the hospital once I was there who had bi-polar.
She was completely off her head and it was a real struggle to talk to her as she would go bananas at you for no reason.
Not sure if it was just her character or illness, but I asked a nurse what was wrong with her and she said bi-polar
That said, I have been inpatient many times and I am pretty sure I have never witnessed bad behaviour like that - and there were probably bi-polar people without me even knowing it
Anyways, picking the best runt out of a litter of runts isn’t really appropriate
I’d rather have neither.
@SkinnyMe is right, I have bipolar disorder and I suffer from negative symptoms also.
Lack of motivation and lack of pleasure.
Having bipolar is no picnic in the park!
I am constantly diving down towards depression and will also suffer from bouts of manic swings.
The stigma still exists surrounding bipolar but it’s better than the stigma associated with SZ.
I also suffer with psychosis when I become manic or mixed.
I become terribly delusional and suffer with severe paranoia.
Honesty I don’t think it’s fair to compare SZ with bipolar.
They are both awful disorders to have
It also depends on the severity of the disorder.
I suffer with bipolar disorder type 1 with psychotic features and this is very similar to SZA.
I suffer from basically the same symptoms and take the same meds including Antipsychotics and mood stabilizers.
I’d rather be a potato
A doctor told me that bipolar individuals have 5 episodes in their lifetime. Im only in my 30s and Ive had more than 5 psychotic episodes since i was 17. I definitely would choose bipolar if that is true, but i would take sz over sza.
Bipolar 1515152424
Both gang

I’ve had way more than 5 episodes booooooooo lol
I don’t know. I know of a bipolar person who committed suicide so it sounds like it is also pretty hardcore.
I’m SzA bipolar type and I’d rather have neither. Both have caused so much damage in my life
Bipolar any day…
From the looks of this thread, it seems that the schizophrenics here would rather be bipolar, the bipolars would rather be schizophrenic, and the schizoaffectives, who experience both, would rather be neither.
So, in the cases of the schizophrenics and the bipolars, the grass is greener on the other side. And for the sza’s, there is no green grass.

Well said, @SkinnyMe .
I’d rather have severe bi polar than severe schizophrenia. If it was mild I wouldn’t mind one better than the other!
With severe bipolar you’re dead more often than not. The same is true for severe sz.
I’ll take either dx as long as I can be high functioning.
Sz and bipolar is like a big spectrum.
I heard voices almost everyday for several years so I’ll be sz
But wait I’ve had many mood episodes too so I’ll be bipolar
Forever Potato
I’d love the highs of being bipolar. Other than that it seems like a drag. Sz at least makes you interesting.
