Wisdom teeth removal

Cant sleep its 2 am i get wisdom teeth removed later today my anxiety is thru the roof am also worried il say stuff il regret afterwards since there doin iv sedation has anybody got personal experience they can share about gettin there wisdom tooth removed is it as bad as it seems or am i trippin or overreacting?

i had mine taken out when i was young. my dentist thought it was a good idea as they’re difficult to brush being so far back, and i haven’t missed them. was given an injection in the gums of novacaine and pulling all 4 of them took about 30 seconds and was painless. no pain afterwards either, it wasn’t a big deal not as bad as a filling. i wouldn’t worry about it and try to get some sleep if you can.

Mine felt mostly fine afterwards, but my jaw would get sore if I rode in a car for the next few days, because of the vibrations. I didn’t do anything embarrassing under the anesthesia. I suspect at least half of the silly anesthesia videos on YouTube are faked because people want their fifteen minutes of fame. I woke up and immediately knew I was waking up from surgery, and that my mom was outside.

Later on in the year, when I picked my friend up from surgery, she didn’t act loopy either. She was nauseous, but totally coherent.

Mine used to hurt a lot but now they don’t hurt anymore. I still haven’t got them taken out. Just the top ones have come in.

If you are under 25 years old, it will be almost painless.

Good luck @anon30680549. Let us know how it goes! :slightly_smiling_face:

My dentist tried to get mine out when I was 18. One came out fine, but the other was more difficult. He put his knee on my chest and pulled and pulled but alas it remains there to this day. One wisdom tooth out the other saying f you to the dentist.

I hit a double whisky after as pain relief, but it was an awful trauma to be honest.

I didn’t have much trouble when they removed mine. They gave me some pain pills, and my teeth still hurt a little when I first took one, so I took another. That killed all the pain, and I took the rest of them as prescribed. If I remember correctly, I think they gave me Percodan to kill the pain.

Am back ! It’s wasn’t bad at all I was awake the whole time and I didn’t feel no pain while they were removing the teeth, my mouth feels like it’s huge and it’s starting to hurt now that I got home but I’ll be fine thank you all for the support

It wasn’t really bad at all. Some people get anesthesia and get totally knocked out for it, if you did that you wouldn’t have to worry about saying anything. I didn’t get anesthesia I got this powerful painkiller that made me super loopy. I didn’t feel a thing during the procedure, though it took a long time. I didn’t really do anything stupid. I got home and for some reason was deadset on getting a paper I had to do done that day, ended up staring at a black laptop screen for several minutes until my mom gently shuffled me to bed where I slept the rest of the day LOL.

Anyhow even if you do anything silly no one will judge you for it because it’s obviously due to the meds and not you.

Ah my response was late. Good to hear though!

My dad held on to the pain pills so I only got one dose. And it got me high!

I remember being super loopy right after the operation. Walking from the car to the house was an adventure!

Overall a fun pre sz experience, I suffered for all of 30 seconds when my dad was fumbling for the pills. After that it all just melted away.
