I’m close to Ontario. New York, western. It’s been warm here for days. We sometimes get late April cold snaps

I had a friend who wanted to move to Canada and practice subsistence farming. He might could have done it, but he got in a car wreck in his van, and it cost so much money he couldn’t get started. There would be an awful lot you would have to know to live like that. He would have had to do some major adapting. He did love the outdoors. I went backpacking with him every Spring and every Fall break. It was great. We sometimes talked about becoming ecology commandos and going destroying construction equipment in backwoods areas.

I’ve never heard that term before LOL. I went through a phase like that as a teenager as well

It’s hilarious how many of the people wanting to do this have no idea of how short our growing season is or why so many Canadians LIKE the idea of global warming. Yeah, it may make the US uninhabitable, but we look at your gun crime and figure you’re 90% of the way there already. Not a huge loss.

We’ve had around 200 mL of rain over the past week. Today is nice. 29 C, sunny with some fluffy clouds. It is Autumn here at the moment.

Well they say we should get another 10 inches of snow tonight and into tomorrow night.

I don’t care if it’s always 70 degrees in our California apartment, I miss heating and air conditioning.

I miss snow too. Shoveling it is even fine with me, as long as it doesn’t partially melt then suddenly refreeze overnight into a crystalline rock-hard mess.
