I love tears of joy… When I go through a difficult period and it’s coming to an end - or experience a significant discovery in life—about myself or my loved ones—I sometimes cry from happiness almost as much as I would from deep sadness. And… in that moment, everything becomes clear – it really matters to me. If I cry from joy, I know that the moment I’m living through is truly precious to me.
I don’t do this, ever.
To be fair tears aren’t really neccisarily signs of sadness. They’re just the brains way of dealing with being overstimulated by releasing some of the neurochemicals built up. Most of the time the overwhelming feeling is caused by stress because life is abundant with stress. But sometimes we can become overwhelmed by the beauty of something. We also cry when we laugh to much. That’s another example.
