My guess is they just hate us and don’t see us as human beings.
I think, like @dreamer54 said, the cure to hate is actually meeting and getting to know gay people. I know there are many former homophobes here who have grown a lot since their first posts.

What I wouldn’t give for a laser beam gun that makes someone gay. I’d shoot so many people with it.
Is that just a tad hostile of me? I guess it is. It just seems like the perfect solution. Find someone who likes to hate on gays and zap, enjoy that for the rest of your life, get back to me when you’re in tears over how many people you thought loved you reject you now.

I’ve attracted or at least confused gay men in my lifetime and they have been really great to me NO MATTER WHAT.
It’s not like me to be brief but I think that’s the best way to put it.

Yeah, a lot of them could be bisexual. That can wear away at you. What I don’t understand is turning your own feelings about it outward as hate to other people who live out and proud. Why would anybody do that? Keep it to yourself at the very least.
Also ticks me off when neo nazi groups want to whittle the race down to just whites, but then they say they want gays to die off too. News flash, one out of every ten of your children is going to be gay, you’re going to be engaged in endless genocide throughout generations even in your best case scenario.

I do not help the situation by not being vocal and an advocate in this area. But I have my personal reasons for not disclosing to anyone like my family for example.
There are plenty of people doing good work, and things for younger people seem to have moved forward some way to where it was - even from when I was in school in the early 2000’s. I already got beaten up enough at school and didn’t want another excuse for people to treat me like ■■■■ at that time.
That said, some people will never accept people being LGBTQ+. Those same people probably enjoy their freedom, so why do they have the right to punish those who’re also exercising the same right that has been hard fought for by many people who unfortunately had to fight this so others could live their lives how they want to.
I am talking exclusively about the more liberal countries who have come around. There is a lot of work to do internationally, as so many people are still being oppressed just for who they are.
Homosexuals are just as likely or unlikely to be pedophiles as heterosexuals. Look at Jeffrey Epstein.
