I think the schedule might set up best for Brazil.
It looks like England has a pretty good chance to get out of their group. It looks pretty favorable for them in the round of 16. Then it turns into a gauntlet for them.
They usually get out of the group and then lose in the next round on penalties 
It doesn’t look a difficult group I expect Belgium to be top and maybe England second.

If I had to bet money which I’ve never done I might go with Portugal. They won the Euros and might have momentum. I think Spain had a pretty good run. It might be Portugal’s time to have run.

I was happy to see klinsman go…I think they need a domestic coach. if the us is to take the next leap they need to stop deferring to the old world…anyways I’m a homer, I also prefer mls players be on the team…I think guys who are in bed with euros are destined to play second fiddle to them

You probably know a lot more about the US team than I do @yaz1. The best soccer competition is in Europe that’s how I see it. Athletes tend to go to place that will pay them the most money. It would be interesting to see what the MLS would look like if they got paid like European players.

A big reason why I like the NFL so much is that there’s a salary cap and you have to use a certain amount of the cap. The disparity between teams is pretty slim. The talent on each team is pretty similar. What separates the good teams from the bad teams is coaching and getting lucky with a QB.
I really don’t know that much about soccer. It seems that champions league gets most teams with unlimited budgets and they fight it out.
