I started taking 10mg Abilify with clozapine.
Gave me DPDR and took forever to wear off because it was an injection at the max dose.
Any medicine will take care of schizophrenia unfortunately is not the amount of dosage but the lifestyle itself that does the changing
Abilify is stronger for me than Clozapine on monotherapy (Abilify alone wipes the voices out).
I was also on the Abilify/Clozapine combination but got off it like 3 years back. I had a prolonged manic break after quitting Clozapine, as other medications failed to work. Now, I think Amisulpride can finally replace Clozapine.I am on 3 currently- Haldol is being tapered in the hope that Amisulpride can completely replace it.
Clozapine is a tough medication. I would sleep 12 hours in one shot on it. It is as worse as Clonazapem in terms of side effects, in different ways.
Abilify has been pretty good for me. My only point of comparison is Invega, which was much much drowsier and affected cognition dramatically (in additon to the illness itself, of course). No major side wffects aside from more drowsiness than I would like.
Seems to work better than risperdone that I was on, and the side effects aren’t as bad so it’s okay, has been pretty good for me, the only thing is my appetite has still out of control for a while, but it seems like the longer you take it then the less this side effect shows up
Works very well for me, keeps symptoms in check completely
