I started out loving Clapton. Then got big into Hendrix, Page and Gilmour. Now I listen to guys like Guthrie Govan, Tom Quayle and Rick Graham. Who you got?
al dimeola, frank zappa, all better than anybody. I prefer Page most of the time, Hendrix too.
Me lol jk. Um, i dont have one honestly.
Stephen Carpenter of Deftones
My favorite guitarist is Xuefei Yang. She is a wizard and the guitar is a toy in her hands. She is 45 years old. I am seven years her senior. I just started the blues a couple of years ago. I was a beginner classic guitarist for most of my life and satisfied with it. Xuefei is a classically trained guitarist. A guitarist who is great but not as good as Xuefei but very beautiful goes by the name Pietz-something or other first name Anna. I really enjoy watching Joe Bonomasa play guitar in concert on YouTube. And then there’s Jeff Beck!!! He looks great for his age!
I’ve been working on “from past to present” which is a piece from Skyrim. It’s why I bought my classical. Used to know the beginning of “to zanarkand” which is a piece from final fantasy.
A nylon string guitar is what I practice fingerstyle country blues. It is easier on the picking fingers.
I bought an electric guitar and an acoustic for $100 apiece. They came with stuff like a strap and strings and tuner. For that little amount of money I didn’t expect to get anything halfway decent but I was surprised. My classical guitar cost $200 twenty years ago. My dad offered to buy a nice $400 classical guitar but I had just destroyed a guitar and didn’t trust myself. The guitars I own are hard to press down on the first fret but with some effort I can.
I hear you. It definitely doesn’t hurt to have something a little above the lower end models. Practicing on something harder to play is a great workout though. You’ll shred when your ready for that nicer piece.
It’s hard to pick out a single favorite guitarist. For rock there’s Frank Zappa, for death metal there’s Muhammad Suicmez, for noise there’s Keiji Haino, for neo-classical rock there’s Yngwie Malmsteen, for blues there’s Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, the list goes on and on. Depends on the category and my mood.
Maybe Ritchie Blackmore
Hmm, I like slash when I was younger. Still think he’s a great guitar player.
