I didn’t mean to knock the hobby, it’s a kickass game, I just was sad when EA got ahold of it and monetized it too much.
Sims 1 and 2 offered tons of content and add ons were full expansions rather than tiny DLCs.
As I’ve said though despite it being more expensive, I think if I jump on at the beginning and get the content as it is released, I should be able to afford it. I’m considering it for when they launch the next one for sure.
I don’t actually MIND spending money on a franchise if I love it. Skyrim and Fallout 4 have “Creation Club” and all the content costs about 300 dollars for each game. I love those games and played them so much that it is worth it for me. (These days you can get all the content for Skyrim in one bundle for twenty bucks, but Fallout 4’s full suite will still run hundreds).
