Minnesota vs. Louisville is the first game.
just going to check the scores after, I didn’t fill out a bracket.
Cincinnati plays iowa tomorrow, if they actually make it to the sweet 16 i’ll watch them again, but most likely scenario is another 2nd round exit, it’s an annual event that goes back to bob huggins that mick cronin has continued. that happens when you can’t score the ball consistently. you can’t win multiple games in the tournament when your team has an off night, which they often do. cronin is clueless about scoring the ball but is a top notch defensive coach
Huggins is at West Virginia now, right? I remember when he coached at Cincinnati when they had Kenyon Martin. Those were good times. I think in my bracket I have Cincinnati going out in the second round, but I didn’t know much about them.
yep he’s at west virginia. he just got landed a big recruit from Cincinnati high school. he also goes after a lot of juco players when he has to. his players didn’t graduate when he was at UC.
they have a solid team but are prone to slumping offensively. their forte is defense and rebounding, they are top 20 in pts allowed for like the 10th year in a row. offensively they kind of rely on a star player and the offense stagnates. they only shoot 60% from the free throw line, so that will probably cost them in a close game. cronin hasn’t really bought into the 3 ball yet though allows some freedom for his players on offense. they are tough to beat, but if you make shots you can beat them as 70pts is the most they will score in a game.
@anon49063606 are you watching? Not sure when Ohio State plays.
oh yeah, I got off work to watch both days. OSU plays Friday night around 10 pm
Do you have Duke winning the entire thing in your bracket?
I chose Tennessee – I tried to pick somebody different
Yeah I think I have Tennessee going pretty far.
Minnesota is doing amazing.
I’m actually gonna DVR the OSU game tonight, and watch it first thing tomorrow morning. I can’t stay up past 10
I probably got 50% of the games right on the first day. It really was tough choosing between the teams.
There weren’t that many upsets. Most of the #1 & #2 seeds are still in the tournament.
Yeah I chose a lot of upsets. I pretty much randomly chose the teams. I have Duke winning. Seems like they have a best chance but anything can happen in one game.
North Carolina, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, Virginia, Gonzaga could all make it to the Final Four though I don’t have a definite pick who would win it all.
I’m just watching for the hawkeyes
Iowa is playing Cincinnati in a couple of hours. I picked Cincinnati to win. I haven’t watch either team play this year. Just a random choice.
We were doing good for the beginning and middle of the season, but towards the end we started to fail
I picked Cincy to win because they are playing close to home, in Columbus. I almost went to the game, but I decided I’d rather just watch it at home. the snacks are cheaper
