From California, and traveled to Gangnam, South Korea and Tokyo, Japan and Paris, France, and Florence, Italy. In a span of 8 months.
Not traveled much, across Canada where I live, been to New York, LA, Grand Forks, Fargo, Sugar Hills in the states that about it, lots of small road trips to little towns in the area.
Iceland , India Few times , the US a few times Scotland too
France, Germany, Thailand, Portugal, Greece and Saudi Arabia.
I went to Buenos Aires, Bariloche and some places in Brazil.
Uganda and Tanzania, all before schizophrenia. Good times.
England and all over the place in Australia (home). So few have seen their own backyard. something I’m grateful for with our family holidays. Only problem is years of the boy scout movement and parents obsessed with caravanning, I’m so over camping in any form. Give me a nice hotel any day. Wish I could afford it though.
All over the United States from Main to Alaska to New Mexico. I’ve been to Cozumel Mexico, and Moscow and St. Petersburg Russia.
Flew from the west coast to the east coast in the U.S. three times, and boy were my arms tired. To Pittsburgh for a vacation. I have no why we chose Pittsburgh of all places. I’ve been to Las Vegas once for Christmas, putting myself in the poorhouse was quite a Christmas present for me. I’ve been to Reno, Nevada quite a few times.
I’ve driven through a few states to get somewhere else but we didn’t even stop in them except to get gas.
Incidentally, I had never been out of California before until I had been schizophrenic for ten years. The only time I have been out of the country was when me and my dad went up to British Colombia.
I have been to Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica and Belize. I have been to several States in the US. I’m not incredibly traveled. I love to travel though. No money anymore.

Did any of you travel after you were diagnosed?
Yes, I traveled alone to Melbourne for seven times after I was diagnosed many years later.
My experience is when queuing for immigration clearance, don’t panic and don’t look around, it is best not to arrive at the airport at midnight because it is less crowded and I can easily become center of attraction.
I am not sure about other airports. Australia is strict in border protection.

@Mouseymoo i travelled with my husband to paris, france we went on a bus from yorkshire to london, then on a ferry to calais then bus to paris, we didnt have accommodation at first but went toward the eiffel tower and managed to get a hotel there. we walked down the champs elysses all way down to notre dame, it was such cool weather until the day after and we got wet through but it was warm so we werent bothered. it was like a proper honeymoon xx i did have a few sympoms but we went for a walk and saw the eiffel tower lit up and i could calm myself xxxxxxxxx
when we were coming back, there was no mention of the channel tunel, and i panicked i wanted to get off, i became closterphobic, but my husband put the jungle book o my tablet for me and he cuddled me, by the time the film had finished we were back in england.
we had loads of checks at the border, we had to get off the bus, and dogs went onto the bus and then we had to gt back on go around the corner, and get off again xx that was a bit stressful and i had a lot of vices and hallucinations and at one bit thought the guard was gonna arrest me.
but we did it and i have lovely memories of paris xxxxx
I have been in many places. When I was young I was in Paris twice, the lovely city. I was there alone but I met some people there. I liked the Latin quarters or just walking around. Back in 1988 I was interested in the stock markets and I visited the stock exchange of Paris. This was before they had computerized everything, I was just a student then, spent one week there during my studies. Remember doing some accounting homework at the hotel where I stayed. Paris is the lovely city.
