I seriously think our world would do a lot better if these concepts were more widespread and integrated into our current models of thinking.
I’ve been trying to ‘be positive’ for so long I had to question, “Why don’t I feel good then?”.
The video explains a LOT. But the main takeaway that I got was that trying to be positive when you’re in pain is basically just a distraction. It doesn’t actually heal the wounds and pretty much keeps you locked in despair/misery/etc…
Great!
Can’t say it’s helped yet. Just a bit refreshing to hear when you get frustrated and losing your wits because ‘being positive’ gets you nowhere (that genuinely feels good).
I’m pretty social. I have tried and failed a million times sometimes totally embarrassing etc but I’m a positive person. It’s that whole glass half full or glass half empty.
I’d argue that it could be biochemical but being positive really is an attitude that can turn things around. Yeah I still try and fail miserably but sometimes I win. Being positive does work and it’s something you can train yourself to do.
That’s fine. A lot of people do. I kind of did at first, but –
Maybe it wouldn’t hurt to watch then to make a more certain judgment and determine if it really isn’t healthy long-term for society to adopt a model of thinking that is like a silent ‘poison’.
The concepts she presents are not easily grasped or accepted for the reason it can be painful to address wounds that we think we’ve healed from.
