What's your opinion on life extension?

I guess life extension technologies are already buzzing in the background even today. Medical treatment is better than ever before and that has resulted in people defying age and living to an age where they are otherwise decrepit and non-functional. It scares me to see people confined to their beds in old age, unable even to go to the toilet on their own. Their minds are the only things working at this stage, so they can feel their pain and their desolation with force.
A good time to die for me has to be before the body gives up. A cute heart attack and no time for speeches!

Not me i dont want to live forever. Things decline and that is enevitable. My grandmother is 101 years of age and she isnt really living anymore tbh she has dementia not a serious type though a mild type. My mind is already gone i dont want everything else to go too.

That’s the eventual goal.

How will it be done?
By replacing failing organs? Tweaking the dna? Reverting oxydation?

At any rate, dead neurons are irreplaceable, except very limited areas of the brain where new ones are being produced. And we lose thousands of them every day. So there seems to be a theoretical limit to how long we can hope to live. Unless we find a way to transfer/copy consciousness onto another physical hardware, maybe a supercomputer.
