What's your least favorite movie? Or one that is highly overrated?

Copying off the favorite movie thread.

There are lots of bad movies. But one that springs to my mind of one that was lauded and I thought was horrible would be “Lost in Translation”. I thought it was boring as hell.

Another movie that I did not enjoy that is often hailed as one of the best was “Citizen Kane”. Maybe it was a innovative movie at the time, but I did not enjoy it at all.

THese are both movies I watched ages ago, so maybe I would enjoy them now since I’ve aged, but I remember being extremely disappointed with both.

Whats a movie you do not like or is highly overrated?

Napoleon Dynamite.

That movie will never be funny to me. Ever.

My least favorite movie is “The Devil Wears Prada”. Meryl Streep is so completely unappealing in this movie. She sucks the life out of every scene. I have mixed feelings about gangster movies like “Goodfellas” and “Scarface”. Sometimes I find those guys boring and sometimes I get into watching how they develop.

Also the movie Crash.

It was super hyped up when it came out, I think back in like 2005.

Remember watching it and being like, “…Okay.”

Probably due for a rewatch, though— just to see if it hits different now that time has passed.

I came out hard against “The Devil Wears Prada”, but it’s strange, the same person who did that movie also came out with the movie “27 Dresses”. In this movie the protagonist is very warm and appealing. She is the ultimate “good girl”. Jane, the good girl, does finally come out hard against her detractors in this movie. Maybe the writer is trying to say something about feminine nature and the roles women are expected to play in these two movies, but they are so totally different from each other.

“Gerry” don’t watch it. It’s about 2 guys lost in the desert that walk around for 2 hours and in the end the one guy dies.

Where the Wild Things Are is another awful one. That was 3 hours of my life I can’t get back. I just sat in that theatre waiting for the movie to get good.

A couple of older, low budget movies that got rave reviews and everybody loved which I thought were both overhyped and blown way out of proportion but made a lot of money at the box office. A comedy called “The Gods Must Be crazy” and a supposedly scary movie called “The Blair Witch Project”. When these movies came out in the 1980’s and 1990’s respectively everybody was talking about them and saying how great they were. I found that the first one wasn’t so funny and the second one wasn’t so scary.

The baby brontosaurus is so annoying. Or maybe it was the baby triceratops
One of the two had a really annoying voice.

I agree with Titanic.

I havnt watched Avatar because the premise doesnt interest me.

I also really passionatly hated Tim Burtons Alice In Wonderland. Probably the worst movie Ive ever seen in a cinema. Compeletly misses the point of Alice In Wonderland to tell some rubbish dark fantasy prophercy story.

Movie I find massively overrated is The Godfather. Yeah yeah I know so what. Another one is It’s a Wonderful Life. Boring and trite.
One that I found endlessly boring and boringly endless was Snowpiercer. I just couldn’t bring myself to care.
In the how/why did this movie get made dept was The Dark Tower. Take a beloved multi volume saga and reduce it to 2 hrs of horrible filmmaking. I want my 2hrs back, and all memory of this dreck wiped from my brain. Ugh.
