I don’t see anything reason for posting the icon of the last person to reply to a thread. It offers no useful information.
Listing the author of the post gives you a feel of why - what The post might have to relate along with the title

In mobile view yes, but you will see the icon of the author as well in desktop view.
I agree in preference to the icon of author also in mobile view. But the developers cannot cram so many icons on phone.
