What's something you want but will never buy?

This is basically a flip of @shutterbug thread. I would want solar panels and a battery bank, I hate when the power goes out and I don’t want to fool with a generator.

A 17 day holiday to California, Nevada USA from a tour operator here in England. With excursions to Las Vegas, Grand Canyon and San Francisco.

£3225 plus spending money. Is visiting America worth the money?

An actual “new” car…all of my vehicles have been used thru personal ads. I’d like a big, ol’ Ford F-150 truck!

A generator would be cool lol

I’d like my shoes in as many different colors as possible

A puppy.

I’d love to get a new dog, train them and have them be well behaved.

But I never will.

I always get a rescue dog.

They’re damaged and don’t train well.

But they’re loving dogs that need another chance.

I just can’t bring myself to purchase a puppy.

It encourages a sketch industry and keeps dogs already in need from homes.

I had a dog from a puppy mill a beagle. His name was Duke. My uncle adopted him from our family because we didn’t get along. Duke only liked food. He didn’t like children

I want everything. I can only barely afford the cheapest food to hopefully keep me alive.

Why want something you can’t have?

If you do that you are just setting yourself up for pain. Needless pain.

Is there something about this craving that you like? do you like pain?

If you don’t then simply give up this longing. You will be better for it.

I want an iPhone. Just to see what the hype is about.

I’m locked into the Android ecosystem though, so I’d never buy an iPhone.

I tried the iPhone 15 Pro Max at Best Buy yesterday, its pretty fast, faster than the Pixel 8 Pro I also tried at BestBuy. My last iPhone was the iPhone 4, it was nice but hated having to use iTunes everytime to transfer files and music, it was jailbroken, you can’t jailbreak new iPhones.

I want to buy a new gaming GPU and CPU for my PC but can’t afford it. I want an RTX 4090 and a 5800X3D.

There are things I want, but will not purchase because they are impractical. I have always wanted one of the new Camera to TransAm conversions:

I had a 1978 Gold Special Edition Pontiac TransAm and I continually regret selling it. I could buy one of the new ones, but I hardly have an interest in driving these days and am much happier tooling around on an eScooter. I still want a TransAm in spite of it, which is dumb because all I would do is park it and maybe tour it around to car shows. So I want it, but I’m not going to buy it.

I don’t think I’ll ever go iphone either, I started with Android and even though I had an iphone for 2 years, I didn’t enjoy the experience that much.

That’s a good one, I’d also like a nintendo 64 with real controllers and all my favorite games but that would be extremely expensive and not a good use of money.

I always figured it was fair to use the roms to play the games I paid for. I have been skeptical of the RetroPi, is it worth it? Can you play stuff that requires the expansion pack?
I love Destruction Derby 64, it works really well with keyboard or laptop controls. There’s just something about driving as fast as you can and smashing into things that appeals to me in a fictional world. I don’t drive and will never drive.

Totally yes. But only if you got the money. I believe in spending money on experiences. I’m from the U.S. and I’ve been all over the world. I just got back from a glorious trip to Israel and Egypt and I am going to Ireland this August. After that, I think I’ll go to Spain. Happy traveling! @Magicapple
