What would you do if your phone died right now?

I use my phone for everything. Just now the screen was black and it wasn’t responding. I plugged in the power cord and nothing happened. I pressed the power on/off button for a few seconds and nothing happened.

Eventually I held the power button in for about 10 seconds and it switched on.

It hasn’t been rebooted for months, so I guess it just got itself into knots.

But the panic was real !

Does the Indians do send up smoke signals just kidding it would take a few minutes or at least couple hours at least to grasp a hold of reality but after that I’m sure I can do fine without a phone I’d have to find other ways to do these things but that’s life

That made me laugh.

I’m totally reliant on my phone. I struggle remembering things and need my calendar and notes section of my phone to remember anything. I also have an app to remind me to take my meds. It’s really important that my phone works. I can only imagine your fears! Ugh!

It is addictive. Everywhere I go I see people glaring into mobile devices. I finally decided to get a smartphone again myself. But I’m planing to use it only when needed. I will keep my nokia dumbphone on a twin sim so I can use that when convenient. I do most of my computer stuff on a desktop. I prefer that. I get stressed pressing small buttons on a small device.

I’d use one of my tablets or one of my computers.

Hey you guys you need to get your calendar to hang on the wall make that two one for the dates that you have to go see the doctor and pick up your prescriptions and start writing them on the calendar second of all the other calendar is for when you have meetings an appointments with family members dates Etc I even put my grocery list on them the worst thing you can do is wrap yourself up in a cell phone

There are other phone things that you do that you could do with a pencil and paper letters to friends and family are not uncommon yet other things you do on the phone like play games you could do with physical Hands-On games such as puzzles magazine and my favorite cutting up old jeans and making blankets out of them

I have a battery that I would use to connect to it.

I’d feel very isolated without my portal to communication with the world. It’d stress me a lot

I keep all my old phones for this reason - I can’t afford home wifi so I just use mobile data (lasts me forever I only use it for messaging and occasional social media) and that would immediately cut me off from the internet. So I’d chuck an old phone on charge so I could let my partner overseas know what’s going on

I’d be annoyed losing all my calendars and stuff and it’s really useful having a little computer on me all the time

But also I do want to get a pocket calendar and a big calendar for home. I really don’t like how much I use my phone and I prefer to engage in hands on hobbies like gaming, clay, drawing, making music etc

I would be unhappy. Then I’d try and fix it. I have no money atm. So I’d let my supervisor know I have no phone.

If my phone would break down (and this has happened in the past). I would immediately buy a new one. iPhones luckily usually last 6 years in my case, which is pretty good.

I well remember the days before mobile phones. It was kinda nice not being at everyone’s beck and call 24/7 so it would be annoying but I could deal with the wait to get it fixed. I’d be lost without a desktop though. That is a big source of my entertainment.
