What the hell is wrong with me

I need to do more paperwork and i need to make some calls and i feel like I’m frozen. Ì just sit here and drink coffee and I’m immobilized.

Some days i just sit on the internet all day. Other days i might get a few things done. It just depends on how things are going.

Nothing is wrong with you. Be kind to yourself and hope the feeling passes soon

My kitchen sink is broken so I have to wash dishes in the bathroom. Haven’t done it

I do this because of my problems with executive function. It’s the process of breaking one big task down into smaller, more manageable tasks. For example, throwing out a wrapper involves standing up, then picking up the wrapper, then walking to the trash can, then opening the lid, then putting the wrapper in, then closing the lid. My brain has trouble figuring out which step comes first, and then I just freeze and don’t do anything.

I’ve learned that talking out my tasks with someone else helps me. Writing a to-do list can also help. Sometimes, I just need someone to tell me what step comes first, and then I can figure out the rest.

Right now, you have a lot of tasks, and it seems terrifying and impossible. Focus on one single thing. Pick one task to do, commit to spending five minutes on it, and after five minutes are up, take a break. You might be surprised how much you can get done in five minutes.

Some things are just ingrained in us. Like after I eat I automatically take my dish to the sink. I don’t necessarily wash it but I take it to the sink.

Or I always sleep on my stomach. I think my mother laid me down on my stomach as a baby.

I do this every day. My house is a mess. I just can’t seem to function like others.

@FatMama. What are you fixing for dinner? I’m having hamburger and asparagus slow cooked in beer. I wrap it in foil and cook it at 350F for 2 hours. I might add a piece of bacon. I usually put garlic, salt and pepper but I didn’t this time

PS. I looked for a food poll to put this in but can’t find one

I’m taking my kids out for supper tonight for my daughter’s birthday. She hasn’t told me where she wants to go yet.

Sit and do nothing.

I’m sorry. I manage to feed the animals. That’s about it. I help my dad on his farm sometimes. I cook simple meals.

I managed to make 2 important calls. Time for another coffee. Then I’ll do a small amount of paperwork and do the dishes before I go get the kidlets.

I cook each day. Not like I used to. I dread 3pm when I have to get off my rear and start getting the kitchen in shape for cooking.

I’ve broken down thanksgiving chores into smaller tasks. Like bathing my dog, then taking a shower. I really don’t have that much left to do. My house will look spotless hopefully by tomorrow. Great advice in here, thanks @Ninjastar!
