I’m not blaming the movies/shows I watched at an influential age for my schizophrenia,
I’m just saying they definitely had an impact on the direction it took.

Over the Edge was a movie about kids doing acid and generally partying. I think the music I listened to and glamorizing the 60’s/hippies drove me to think drugs were cool. This may have triggered my sza. The Wall was a trip so was The Exorcist and Carrie.

When I saw Dumb & Dumber it changed my perspective and outlook on life profoundly, forever. I thought, here’s these two guys, struggling through life, overcoming obstacles that would fell an ordinary man, but with dignity and iron will, and strength they triumphed in life. It inspired anything I’ve ever done and I owe any success I’ve ever had to seeing that movie.

Family Guy gave me delusions of reference (I think that’s what it’s called). I used to think they were writing their jokes specifically for me. Also, The Machinist is a trippy movie. Def made my delusions of feeling like I was being followed much worse.

I can’t watch Dr House anymore since stopping Abilify or since having sz. Can’t see blood now and I was dissecting human corpses before sz…I surely can’t do that anymore now with my sz.
